Three Things A School Website Should Have...

I think that a good school website should definitely have their slogan on the website. This shows a lot about the school, what they're about. This can also show a lot about the school's background or what type of school it is. For instance, if the slogan was: "Turning Girls into Women" it would be a girls school and this would be obvious. This may also suggest that the school is private. I also think that because you read this slogan, and slogans should be memorable, you leave the site with something stuck in your head. This is good because you might have judged the school already, and the slogan is another thing that you can judge.

I also think that a website should have the school contact details so that if you wanted to learn more or contact the school then you can easily get in touch. This is helpful because it gives the location of the school, so you can tell what the area's like and you can also tell if you are in the catchment area. This also gives you the opportunity to arrange a visit with the school, or you could simply just go down to look at it.

I think that a site should have photos to prove what you're saying. You could call the school "modern and artistic" when it's really an old dump. Photos also give you the chance to look at the dress code, how students present themselves and how the atmosphere looks. You can tell a lot form a photo and I think it gives you the opportunity to make your own decision on how the school works. Certain things in the photos may also appeal to you. You may see subjects not taught at your school. You may have been to the school before and photos will show you how it has changed and developed.
