Over to you …

When OFSTED visited our school recently they seemed to think that our school was 'Good' with 'outstanding' features. They thought that our school provided good help with the resource. Although we could improve on our attendance/ Punctuality.

Our school has really improved since we have had the new building.

including the test results.

Even though we have achieved so much we are still striving to reach our best. Not just academically and sporting achievements but in reaching a happy and good environment to be in.

That is why our school is "striving for excellence."

This school has a highly educated staff with great people skills and always makes the children have fun and learn at the same time.

We also have a great it facilities with a least ten computers in every room.

The school grounds is a great place for your kids to play and keep a high level of fitness at the same time.

Ofsted as been here last month and said we were a good school with outstanding features and to make the school be outstanding we need to work on punctuality and we started to work on it straight after they went so we should have that sorted out by the end of the year.

Also the gcse's this year have been amazing 80% of people got a b or more in  there maths and 70% got more then b in English so were really proud of what they have achieved.

This school, our school isn't just a school. It's the school. The school for achievement, the school for learning and the school for every child that wants a shot, a real shot at life. This school, our school is King Ecgbert School. This school is my blood. If this school dies, I die with it!

Nobody knows my own personal slogan.

"Eine Studentenschaft, Eine Fakultät, Ein Schulleiter!"

In 2005 we had a brand new building. This building is like a son to me. With a black mullet and a pair of shades, this school is the definition of cool.

I believe, sorry, we believe here at this school, that anybody and everybody has the potential to learn and learn well. Here, at our school, we provide the facilities and staff to kick-start your learning life. We aren't just talking subjects. We're talking life skills! People skills! Cooking skills! Non-school-related skills!

We provide a range of subjects. There's so many opportunities, that it will make you dizzy!

With students lurking around every corner, ready to show you the ways of the world and teach you how to live in the jungle that is school life, we make you feel welcome and show you how to get by.

We have our own family here and our Aunts and Uncles over at OfSTED rated us a good school with outstanding features. Here that? Outstanding features! You know what was outstanding? You'd never guess that it was us ourselves. Our building, our staff and best of all, the one thing that keeps this school burning on, our pupils!

The results will amaze you, the building will impress you, the pupils will adore you, this is the place you want to go. As the local community have said on numerous occasions:

It's The Closest You'll Get To Heaven

Over the past few years King Ecgbert has been gradually becoming and education success and have been quoted in the 2008 OFSTED report as a 'good school with outstanding features'

In April 2005 we moved into the new building which has brought many advantages to the learning process and education in our school.

We have very good punctuality to learning in and out of lessons and have a referral system in place which has become effective towards the behaviour of the pupils at the school.

We also has a pupil council so that not only the staff at the school but also the pupils learning at the school has a say in how the school is run which has made them feel more involved in the school.

We have put on many extra curricular activities such as geography clubs and revision sessions as well as many different types of sport as an opportunity for pupils to work co-operatively with each other as well as getting the most out of there education.

As a school we are always trying to improve school standards in the best possible and most effective  ways whether it is buying new advanced equipment for learning or changing the uniform we are always 'striving for excellence'.

1. It should have information on what the school has done, and what results they have got in inspections, so people can see clearly what the school has done and how good it is

2. It should have information on the different lessons they teach, and how they teach it, so people can see if it suits them

3. It should provide a way for you to access their school work on school computers from home, so pupils can continue with their work quickly and easily from their own house

Hello everybody in this website you will find all the information you will need to know about our school king Ecgbert.

·         In top 20 of most improved schools for 5*A-C GCSE grades in the lat 4 years

·         Post 16 – 60% of subjects in top quartile for value added

·         About our performance as a whole… “This is truly impressive and my congratulations to you and your staff and to the Governors.” – Jonathon Crossley-Holland, Executive Director Children and Young People

·         OfSTED in 2008 rate us as a ‘VERY GOOD with OUTSTANDING FEATURES’.

·         A socially and ethnically diverse school community serving children from a wide range of backgrounds and locations.

In recently years we seem to have gone through what some might describe as ‘a golden patch’.

In 2008 we had record examination results – well above national average.

In 2008 OfSTED judged us now to be a ‘very good’ with outstanding features. We are naturally very proud of this achievement which has been brought about by hard work from everyone associated with the school. The inspectors considered that we were rather special as our children had good behaviour and treat everybody with respect. We have spent £500,000 of our own money on many items to make this one of the best-equipped schools in the country. A significant proportion went on new ICT facilities including new computers with flat screen monitors, and electronic whiteboards.

In our school we take bullying no for a answer and we can control the bullies by giving them a detention or excluding as we cannot have no one upset. Important though facilities are, they do not make a school. One of the many things that impress me and many visitors to our school is the pupils. For the most part they are confident, articulate, happy and proud of their school.

Our school is a technology collage . This has been a very good move for us as we have just moved into a new building on our Wessex site.

Such is the degree of academic success that the vast majority continue their education at University and other places of Higher Education. We have many 'enhancement opportunities' which include community work, careers education and advice, clubs and societies, educational visits at home and abroad, and the use of computers and Information Technology. One strong feature of the school is the large number of young people (around 120) who participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

We are not just about obtaining high examination results. We have many sporting, musical and drama activities. The number of visits we make to other countries is significant.

We feel that the backbone of the school is high quality teaching in a caring happy secure and mutually supportive environment. We want ALL students to achieve success to the highest level of their potential.

We believe that we are a school which has a great deal to offer young people although we are never satisfied and are always ‘striving for excellence’.

Mr Bob Evans, Head Teacher

Headteachers PictureHEAD TEACHER’S STATEMENT

Dear the parents and carers of King Ecgbert School Pupils, my name is Mr. Evans and i am the head teacher here at King Ecgberts school. Here is what i think of OUR masterpiece.

King Ecgberts school is the school where you an trust that your kids will get the best education that Britain has to offer. You can trust that our teachers will try their hardest to get the best possible potential out of your kids. They ill be stretched here but they will learn and they will never be bored. We have always had positive feedback from ofsted and even more so since we got the new building. Our school motto is striving for excellence and i think that we achieve that in every way. I believe that this school has a very adult environment and not just with the teachers but with the student body as well. I believe that this isn't my school but that it is our school. I want this school to be something that everybody in this adult environment is proud to be a part of. In years to come i have a dream that students will be proud to exclaim that they are a part of our adult environment. I believe that our school has some of the best facilities in the country to help the children learn to their full potential.

This school has an excellent integrated rescore and special needs team. This really benefits not just the people that fall into that category but the other children as well.

The exam results have recently some of the top in the country for value added and the exam results really show what sort of school this is.

I think that this school is brilliant and that you would be mad not to try and get a place for your child.

I believe strongly in the pupils potential and i truly believe that we are the right school for everyone!

Thankyou for listening

Over to you…

King Ecgbert School- A very good school to go to, students that come here learn very well and get good grades. All of the ofsted reports have been "very good" and I am very happy with that. King Ecgbert School is a safe and very trustworthy school.

Our school is an easy accessible school with a drive leading down to the school car park. We have good facilities, with 2 tennis courts, a five aside pitch and astro-turf. In 2005 we had a new building built instead of the two buildings. We have no graffiti, and we have 3 floors to the new building.

Rated a "Good school" with "outstanding features," in 2008 by the Ofsted report, King Ecgbert School is a school that we as a community have created for fun, learning, and adulthood for our children's future.

Moving into the new school in 2005 was a very big change over for our fellow pupils, there were new classroom, layout, and some teachers as well, was all a big knock on effect of children being able to learn the new routine yet again. Although we spent over £500,000 of our own money on new resources like computers, and laptops for the IT Department, and also new Art equipment for fellow GCSE takers, the whole school have benefitted from this tremendously. But, with help from our Resources, and Learning Mentors, we have managed to gain 5* A-C GCSE Grades in the last 4 years of being here.

It is not just my school, it is our school, as a community, we are here to work together, and be prepared for any misunderstanding that may occur in our time at being at King Ecgbert School. The bullying policy started as soon as we had moved into the new building.

Our outstanding features are our Design and Technology, hence the school being based upon this subject. Following along with our Languages, ranging from German to Urdu, a lot of pupils take one or maybe two languages for their GCSE's.

Our moto is "striving for exellence" and we will stick to that. Our school, thats what we say. (:

As long as I have been working in this school I have tried to create the "adult atmosphere". The school is not my school, but ours. The school belongs to the parents, carers, teachers and students who I work to make sure they feel safe and secure in the school.

King Ecgbert is not just any school it is OUR school! OUR school, never forget that. OUR SCHOOL.

Yes, yes we have good exam figures, we have great OFSTED reports, we have a amazing building, but most of all we have a school that we can think about and not say my school but OUR school. We are a community school. we want an adult environment. An environment where there are no animals, no childish behaviour. Adult behaviour, adult office clothing.

If your cold wear our fleeces! They may look awful, they may feel tatty but non uniform clothing that you class as coats but are actually hoody's must be removed on the school premises, OUR school premises.
